Sommelier Corner

The Touriga Nacional, native to Portugal, boasts a structured length and high tannins, with concentrated flavors of dark fruit. One of two major touriga grapes that play a major role in the blends of aged ports, this treasure is gaining an increase of attention for its beautiful aromatic qualities in table wine. We have chosen two different tourigas to explore, giving reason why the challenge in growing these grapes is well worth the effort; One is from Brazil and the other from right here in California's central coast."
